The competition organized by Ultima Studio Limited and sponsored by MTN Nigeria were hotly contested before the trio emerged recently.
Okiemute, the overall winner is a 25 year old Linguistics & Communications graduate from University of Port Harcourt.
She emerged winner of MTN Project Fame West Africa Season 9! She won N5 Million cash prize, a brand new SUV, and a recording contract worth millions of Naira.
Okiemute used to have a career in modeling, but lately she is following her passion as a band lead singer.
She is from a family of six, and the third of four girls. Okiemute credits her journey into music to one of her sisters, whom she said was always quick to put her at the fore front of any music-related activity.
A first timer on Project Fame, Okiemute said she made the decision to participate this season because she was certain she had built enough confidence.
At the car presentation held at the Lagos office of MTN Nigeria (the sponsors behind the talent show), Okiemute expressed gratitude to God, Ultima studios, and MTN Nigeria for the wonderful opportunity.
She could hardly contain her excitement as she held the keys to her car, on a lighter note, she said “This car actually suits my skin tone, I absolutely love it!”
The first and second runner up also expressed delight with the organizers. According to Okotete, the brand new car means an end to going about in tricycle.
